Welcome to the Los Gatos Center of Self-Realization Fellowship

The Los Gatos Center is a branch of Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF), founded in 1920 by Paramahansa Yogananda.

The Los Gatos Center serves families and friends throughout Silicon Valley and is open to the public, offering group meditations, inspirational readings, and Sunday School for children of all ages.   • Regularly Scheduled Services
    The Los Gatos Center offers meditation and lecture services which are open to the public. All sincere seekers are invited to attend the services and special events and to bring their children to the Center's Sunday School program. Our Services include periods of silent meditation, devotional chanting and inspirational reading.
  • Sunday School
    Self-Realization Fellowship Sunday School classes are open to all children interested in learning about the SRF teachings and way of life. No prior experience with the teachings is required. Learn More

Main Chapel/Sanctuary Guidelines

Here are some helpful reminders to maintain a peaceful, safe, quiet, and respectful environment in our main chapel. 1) Cell phones: Please remember to TURN OFF PRIOR to entering. This includes vibrate or silent mode. If you need phone access, you may step out to the foyer or outside before turning on and retrieving messages or calls. 2) Footwear: Please bring into the sanctuary and do not leave in foyer. 3) Noisy jackets and plastic bags: Please remove or leave in foyer. 4) Food and drink: Please do not bring into sanctuary, even if wrapped. Bottled water is OK. 5) Seating: As per fire code regulations, please do not sit on floor in aisles or rear of chapel. Floor seating is allowed during long meditations (3-6 hour) at front of chapel only. 6) Entry: Ushers allow chapel entry during chanting and service reading periods. Entry is not allowed during prayers, affirmations, and meditation.

Calendar of Events and Service

  • Group Meditations
    Paramahansa Yogananda insisted on group meditation and said: "Group meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of self-realization of each member of the group by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of group magnetism." Group meditations are held at the Los Gatos Center currently only on Sunday mornings from 10:00-10:45 AM and most Sunday afternoons from 2:00-5:00 PM.   • Guided Meditations
    On the first Sunday of every month, a guided meditation service is held at the Los Gatos Center (please see schedule for exact dates and times). During this period, a service reader will guide the congregation through basic techniques of meditation and read excerpts from Paramahansa Yogananda's teachings.
  • Commemorative Services
    The Los Gatos Center holds commemorative services designed to honor the gurus in the lineage of Self-Realization Fellowship. The service usually begins with a meditation at 7:00 PM which is followed at 8:00 PM by the commemorative service. We also hold a long meditation on the closest Saturday to the commemorative service.
